Just to explain the list slightly, those numbers represent the percentage of protein in each food that can be absorbed by the body. The top two proteins (whey concentrate and whey isolate) are greater than 100% because they are hydrolized, or "pre-digested" to be absorbed by the body more efficiently than almost any other protein type. There's a reason protein powder costs so much!
If you're looking for this information, I got it from an article whose Google source I will provide:

Plzzz tell me. what the main benifits of WP ???
ReplyDeleteWhey protein contains all the essential amino acids - the building blocks of protein. Since whey protein isolates are hydrolysed, they are more easily digested and therefore the rate of protein synthesis is accelerated. This results in faster muscle tissue repair and thus accelerated development.
ReplyDeleteIn response to crimple7; there should be NO amino acids or BCAA'S in whey protein. This has been added by the manufacturer to falsify the true protein amount. It's called "spiking". Amino acids should be used or added to other forms of supplements!
ReplyDeleteYou make no sense. A protein molecule is comprised of amino acids and those include BCAAs..this is what makes up a full protein molecule. If you ingest a 'protein' that has no amino acids then you are not ingesting protein. The term 'spiking' refers to the unnecessary adding of nitrogen increasing compounds to a product. If you're going to post something 3 times at least know what you're talking about.

ReplyDeleteRobin, can you clarify your statement? Proteins are made of amino acids.
